Presentation about Wikipedia
Abstract
We investigate the question of why wikipedia works.
To this aim we examine aspect of contributor motivation
and aspects of the organization of the project. From our results we conclude that the "Public Goods Dilemma" does not
apply to the Wikipeda project. Important reasons are the existence of
intrinsic motivations that drive contributors and the modularity of the
project which allows contributors to choose a part of the project that
fits their motivation and skills.
