The report 2-2: Software patents, held at tutorial 2 on 8th December.
Abstract
While reviewing the current problems of software patents, parallels to the history of patent establishment showed up. The comparison of the incidents in the 16th to 18th century with current events provided noticeable correspondences like the patent descriptions, the practice of granting patents and the law situation. The problems of the royal England of the early modern age are put opposite current examples from Europe.
